Location: Te Haruhi bay (Shakespear bay) – Whangaporoa
Access from: Whangaporoa Rd, into Shakespear Park
Wind Direction: SW, S, SE
Level: Beginner to expert

Description:
Amazing beach which deserves the respect of all users. During winter it is almost deserted and you can kite whenever you like. Summer is a different story as this is a very popular beach for swimmers. It is best not to kite here during the busy times as DOC runs the park and they will punish us all at the first sign of trouble. This is one spot we don't want to see shut down so respect other users and obey the park rules.
Great shallow flat water kiting at mid tide as the sandbar forms a small lagoon close to the beach. Choppy at high and low tide and can get very busy with kiters as it is a popular spot.
High tide water is easily overhead so beginners should kite here at mid to low. Launching is from the beach and the grass section to the left as you enter the park for the more experienced.
