North - Mangawhai Heads

Description:
Mangawhai heads is around 1½ – 2 hours north of Auckland and has two spots, a flat water estuary and the surf beach.
Estuary:
This is best in E, SE winds and can produce some super flat water against the sand dunes. It is shallow for a long way through here so can be used for teaching although it can be gusty. Plenty of room to setup and launch on the grass.
Beach:
This is rideable in NE, E, SE and can be reached by kiting out the rivermouth. There is a sandbar which produces waves breaking left and right.
